China Mobile announced its unaudited operational and other financial highlights in the first three quarters of 2019. During the period, China Mobile's operating income reached 566.7 billion yuan, down 0.2% YoY. Specifically, the revenue from communications services was 513 billion yuan, down 1.0% YoY; the EBITDA was 225.5 billion yuan, up 5.3% YoY; and the profit attributable to shareholders was 81.8 billion yuan, down 13.9% YoY.
As of September 30, 2019, China Mobile had a total of 942 million subscribers. Among them, the number of 4G users reached 747 million with a net increase of 34.33 million in the first three quarters. The number of cable broadband users reached 185 million with a net increase of 28.36 million in the first three quarters. The ARPU for cable broadband service was 32.7 yuan. The mobile Internet traffic had a year-on-year growth of 124%. The DOU for mobile Internet reached 6.6GB, up 116% YoY. The total number of message minutes decreased by 8.2% YoY. The number of SMS messages increased by 40.9% YoY. The ARPU for mobile Internet service was 50.2 yuan.
