"The network is ready," Wang Xiaochu, chairman of China Unicom, announced in Shanghai on April 23rd.
Meanwhile, China Unicom released the "7+33+n" 5G network deployment, namely, the continuous coverage in seven urban areas of Beijing, Shanghai, Guangzhou, Shenzhen, Nanjing, Hangzhou and Xiong'an, realization of coverage in hot spots in 33 cities, customized private network in 5G network in n cities, and set-up of various industrial application scenarios to provide broader test scenarios for partners and promote 5G application incubation and industrial upgrading.
Mr. Wang Xiaochu called on partners to make joint efforts to promote the evolution and maturation of 5G networks, so as to realize 5G mobile phone, general purpose mobile phone, people-affordable price and terminal ubiquity early.
In addition, China Unicom has also released a new 5G brand identity -- "5Gn".
