China Unicom initiated the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei ROADM Experimental Network Project a few days ago. This project requires 39 new ROADM transmission sites to cover 7 provinces/districts/cities in the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei region. This means that China Unicom is accelerating the progress of all optical network (AON).
In 2017, Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei Experimental Network Project of China Unicom Long-distance Transmission Network proposed to build experimental networks in 31 key cities in Beijing, Tianjin, Hebei, Henan, Shandong, Shanxi and Inner Mongolia (7 provinces/districts/cities in total). This project involves the new construction of 31 master sites and 8 interoffice extension sites.
