According to the statistics from CAICT (China Academy of Information and Communications Technology), China has shipped 44.186 million mobile phones domestically in September, dropping 7.4 percent year over year, and released 123 new models with a 0.8 percent YoY increase.
Representing 85.8 percent of the total during the period, China's domestic-brand handset shipments fell 5.4 percent to 37.915 million with 115 new models.
There were 41.556 million smartphones shipped with a 3.8 percent decline, accounting for 94 percent of the total.
During the first three quarters of the year, the handset shipments were down 8.2 percent to 367 million in China while the new models fell 28 percent to 823.
China's domestic-brand handset shipments dropped 7.5 percent to 331 million YoY, accounting for 90.2 percent of the total while 768 new models of domestic-brand were released, which decreased 29.3 percent compared with the same period of the year before.
There were 345 million smartphones shipped in China with a 7 percent decline, representing 94 percent of the total.
