The China Academy of Information and Communications Technology recently published a White Paper on the Development of 5G in China and Its Economic and Social Influences --- Initial Achievements Made in Exploring the Blue Ocean, showing the trend of 5G’s commercial application and predicating the development orientations of 5G technology in the next 1-2 years. The White Paper also cited a ranking of major device producers in terms of their market shares.
In the first half of 2021, the global market value of 5G wireless access devices has reached $13.3 billion, surging by 43% from the same period last year. And China makes up 44% of the global market.
Huawei ranks first in the world with a market share of 35.2% in the first half of 2021, followed by Ericsson with a share of 21.5%, ZTE 16.14%, and Nokia 12.06%.
In the overseas market, however, Ericsson tops the list with a share of 33.69%, followed by Nokia and Samsung with shares of 21.51% and 16.29% respectively. China’s Huawei and ZTE take the fourth and sixth places with a respective share of 15.1% and 3.7%.
