Hytera Responds to U.S. Government Procurement Prohibition: No Impact on its American business

Updated:2018/6/1 10:11

On May 24 of American local time, the U.S. House of Representatives overwhelmingly passed the "National Defense Authorization Act for the FY 2019", including an amendment proposal.

The amendment proposal suggested that the U.S. government should prohibit the procurement of video surveillance equipment supplied by certain Chinese manufacturers on the grounds of national security. Well-known Chinese manufacturers such as Hikvision, Dahua, and Hytera were included.

At present, the bill is in the legislative procedure of the U.S. Congress and has not yet been finalized to become law. In response to this incident, Hytera responded to C114 by saying that the company expressed regret over the adoption of the bill by the U.S. House of Representatives and will pay close attention to the progress of this motion.

Hytera currently focuses on the civilian and commercial markets in the U.S., and this bill has little effect on the company’s business in the United States.
