China Tower Posted Revenue of RMB 42.673 billion in H1 2021

On August 9, the 2021 interim results report released by China Tower in Hong Kong showed that company’s first-half operating income was 42.673 billion yuan, up 7.2% from a year earlier, while EBITDA was 31.184 billion yuan, up 7.2% from a year earlier, and EBITDA ratio was 73.1%. The average number of tenants in tower stations rose to 1.68 from 1.66 at the end of 2020, with a further improvement in overall sharing; the profit was 3.457 billion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 16.1%.

Previously, China Tower proposed the “One Body, Two Wings” business development strategy. As “One Body”, carrier business has maintained stable healthy development. In the first half of 2021, China Tower delivered 256,000 new 5G construction projects, 97% through the use of existing resources. Leveraging the advantage of resource sharing, China Tower is facilitating large-scale construction of 5G networks economically and efficiently, while 5G is also gradually emerging as a driving force for the company’s business and revenue growth.

In the first half of 2011, China Tower’s carrier business recorded revenue of 39.808 billion yuan, a year-on-year growth of 4.5%. Of this total, tower business contributed revenue of 37.722 billion yuan, up 3.7% year-on-year, while indoor distribution business contributed revenue of 2.086 billion yuan, up 21.3 percent year-on-year.

China Tower’s “Two Wings” had a superb performance. In the first half of 2021, revenue from “Two Wings” was 2.737 billion yuan, up 73.3% from the previous year, contributing 40% of new revenue.
