On the Signing Ceremony of the Official Telecommunication Services Partner of the Olympic and Paralympic Winter Games Beijing 2022 on December 26, China Unicom announced that it will formally use the 166 number section and the first batch of number allocation will be 1 million nationwide.
Some branches of China Unicom have started booking of 166 mobile phone numbers in advance, in addition, China Unicom also made special explanation of the attractive numbers in the 166 number section.
1, requirements for the fourth category of attractive numbers (doesn’t contain number 4): prepaid deposit of 2,000 yuan and monthly commitment communication fee of 396 yuan with 2-year agreement period; types of the tail numbers are as follows: ABCD (including DCBA), AAA, AABBCC, ABABAB, number 4 is not contained in A, B, C or D.
2, requirements for the fourth category of attractive numbers (contain number 4): prepaid deposit of 600 yuan and monthly commitment communication fee of 166 yuan with 2-year agreement period; types of the tail numbers are as follows: ABCD (including DCBA), AAA, AABBCC, ABABAB, one of A, B, C and D is number 4.
3, requirements for the fifth category of attractive numbers: prepaid deposit of 100 yuan and monthly commitment communication fee of 99 yuan with 2-year agreement period; types of the tail numbers are as follows: AABB, ABAB, neither A nor B is number 4.
On August 8, MIIT released the tenth batch of "Telecommunication Network Resource Usage Certificate" in 2017. China Telecom got the 199 number section, while China Mobile and China Unicom got the 198 and 166 number section, respectively. China Telecom has already started number allocation of the 199 number section.
